Dance United YorkshireCore Member Yorkshire and the Humber
Dance United Yorkshire is a Community Interest Company that works with young people who are marginalised in society and whose potential is often unrecognised or unfulfilled. Contemporary dance training and performance of the highest quality has the power to unlock this potential. Dance United Yorkshire delivers work that is tough, tightly-focused and highly disciplined. The vision is to see more young people in Yorkshire transform their lives through dance; prepare young people for adulthood, enable them to be socially aware of their responsibilities and realise their potential for a positive future.
Dance United Yorkshire delivers bespoke projects, modelled on contemporary dance training and performance, working in partnership with frontline organisations across the Yorkshire region. Programmes are delivered by an integrated team of specialist dance facilitators and support staff and they are developed for a range of specific client groups, including young people who are NEET, under Youth Offending Teams, within Pupil Referral Units, identified by Families First teams or at risk of Child Sexual Exploitation.
They projects range from short intensive performance projects which run for 5 weeks to longer interventions delivered over 10 or 11 weeks. Dance United Yorkshire also delivers evening progression routes for young people to remain engaged with the provision.
