Emily Doherty is an Applied Theatre practitioner with 15 years experience of working in school, PRU, community and arts settings. She specialises in work with young people ‘at risk’ as well as those with SEN and complex needs.
She is a trained Primary School Teacher and has worked in the past as Head of Arts Inclusion for Ovalhouse, for Cardboard Citizens and Streets Alive theatre companies.
She has strategically managed Ovalhouse's Future Stages, Back on Track, Rewind and Demonstrate projects as well as the Creating Change Network.
She now works as Company Director of Rewrite a participatory arts charity that works primarily with young migrants and refugees, challenging racism and prejudice by developing young people's language, literacy and voice through the arts, specifically drama and creative writing.
